I’m an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Oxford and a tutorial fellow in philosophy at Merton College. I’m currently writing about how our ideas about what makes for a good conversation interact with our conceptions of the self and of democratic community. In the past few years, I have taught seminars on Plato, feminism, Kant’s aesthetics, Hannah Arendt, the history of humanism, and the methodology of moral and political philosophy.
